The Role:
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work alongside our VP Engineering, Head of Music and team of Engineers and Researchers. Our small team brings together cutting edge research on music tooling, speech synthesis and generative modeling to create powerful tools for young creators and music enthusiasts. Your position will help develop new and innovative ways for users to create music.

Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and scale backend services to support our AI-powered music tools, ensuring seamless integration with front-end components and external systems.
- Design and development of microservices-based architectures, creating scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions that handle high-volume music and audio data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the VP Engineering, Head of Music, and ML Researchers, to define technical requirements and align backend development with business goals.
- Work closely with frontend engineers and ensure smooth communication between backend services and client-facing applications, focusing on performance across devices.
- Implement security best practices across backend systems to protect sensitive user data, ensuring compliance with privacy standards and industry regulations.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend code, identifying potential bottlenecks, and devising strategies to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Share knowledge and experience to promote best practices in backend development, architecture, and engineering.
- Actively participate in code reviews, providing technical guidance and ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Monitor and manage the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring continuous integration, deployment, and version control are effectively managed and aligned with project goals.

About you:
- 5+ years professional experience with Python and JavaScript, or equivalent experience building and owning scalable backend servicesSolid experience working with microservices architectures, designing and building scalable systems that interact with APIs and external services.
- Proficient in AWS and cloud infrastructure, including managing services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and others that contribute to reliable and scalable systems.Experience with modern development practices such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, version control, and automated testing.
- A passion for solving complex problems, with a desire to learn new skills and technologies.
- Ability to take feedback well and understand that changes in product direction happen regularly. We practice direct feedback, fail fast, and adapt our product quickly.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including code quality, scalability, and security.
- Proven experience shipping one or more software/digital products, particularly in fast-paced environments.
- Approach feature work with a goal of delivering a working prototype early and iterating based on feedback.
- Excellent refactoring, code maintenance, debugging, and optimization skills.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

We are hiring a Senior ML Researcher to work alongside our VP of Engineering, Head of Music and team of Engineers and Researchers. Your position will help develop new and innovative ways for users to create music.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement ML algorithms to enhance music creation tools and solve various user problems
- Conduct research on the latest advancements in AI and music, staying at the forefront of industry trends to inform new product features.
- Build and maintain data pipelines for model training, handling audio and other unstructured data.
- Collaborate with the engineers and product leaders to align ML models with business goals and ensure successful integration into products.
- Understand the requirements of running models in production, including domain shift testing, QA, A/B testing and so on.
- Uphold ethical AI practices, ensuring fairness and responsible use of AI in our music products.
- Document research findings and present innovative solutions to stakeholders, fostering a collaborative approach to AI development.

About You:
- Knowledge of music theory or significant experience working on music research/solutions
- Knowledge of GenAI architectures (transformers, LLMs, diffusion) *preferred
- Degree in computer science, mathematics, electronic engineer or equivalent experience
- Strong programming ability. Experience in Python is preferred.
- Experience with model training using python libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Matlab, or Keras.
- Preprocessing and modeling skills with unstructured data (e.g. audio or image)
- Experience with cloud computing, AWS is preferrableAbility to work on both open-ended research problems and production-ready API code.
- Ability to work autonomously when required, and to take initiative with new research activities.

Technical Project Manager (Scrum Master) | Music Tech

The Role:
We are hiring a Technical Project Manager to assist with managing our product roadmap and relevant projects related to our two key products - a Roblox music game & a web app in the music AI space. This role will see you working closely with the respective Product Owners as well as other key internal stakeholders, including our CTO, General Manager, Senior Developers, and UX/UI Designers, to ensure key sprint milestones & projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with our business goals.

Your role will involve managing deliverables, overseeing Jira tickets & boards, and leveraging product metrics & user data to assist with optimising our product strategies.

We are looking for someone with experience working in high traffic consumer web tools/apps, game production or technology-focused roles. You will have strong technical understanding, enabling you to work effectively alongside Senior Software Engineers, Machine Learning Researchers, Game Developers & Designers. Some level of experience and understanding of AI and Machine Learning/Deep Learning is a plus. You are incredibly organized and love being the 'glue' that helps teams communicate & work together effectively to create incredible products.

This role will be an initial 3 month contract with opportunity to extend. Please note, our team is global, remote-first; you will be working with colleagues on both US & Australian timezone.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Product Owners to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Manage the project timeline, ensuring that milestones are met and that the team is on track.
- Oversee Jira management, including setting up and maintaining boards, tracking progress, and ensuring transparency in project status.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (CTO, General Manager, Senior Developers, UX/UI Designer) to gather requirements and provide regular updates on project progress.
- Identify potential roadblocks and work with the team to develop solutions that keep projects moving forward.
- Assist in prioritizing tasks and managing the product backlog.Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team, ensuring everyone is aligned on project objectives.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, and report on progress, risks, and issues to the Product Owners and other stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement by suggesting and implementing enhancements to project management processes.

About You:
- A passion for music, technology, gaming and general interest in AI.
- Experience leading digital projects in web, apps, consumer products or in gaming.
- Strong project management skills with experience in agile methodologies, particularly in a non-technical scrum master capacity.
- Proven experience in managing technical projects, with the ability to work closely with engineers, designers, artists and technical product managers.
- Familiarity with Jira or other project management tools and a solid understanding of software development lifecycles.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive projects to completion.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable adapting to changing priorities.
- Experience in a startup environment is a plus, with a passion for solving complex problems and driving innovative solutions.
- High level of accountability, persistence, and the ability to work independently and remotely.
